Using the research and experimentation of many traditions, laws, beliefs and faiths, we have arrived ‘home’…. back to our roots and ancestral knowledge of living and eating in harmony and in accordance with our natural environment. Ancient Greek, Chinese and Ayurvedic dietary practices follow the Earth’s elemental patterns and it is through these three lineages that we would like to delve into a 7 day nutritional enquiry. During the course we will live what we teach and offer a 2-day detox programme with juices/ monodiet and colon cleansing with individual nutritional consultation.
In this course we will learn the fundamental elements of each season and its mental, physical and emotional aspects. In accordance with the 5 elements (Earth, Fire, Water, Metal, Wood) we will cover what ingredients to cook with, how to cook, what dishes to make and of course how to eat them. We will learn and explore ancient secrets of health and longevity from the East and the West (both in and out of the kitchen), how to detox ourselves in each season and how to best nourish our bodies on a daily basis. We will discuss all diet forms; raw, vegan, cooked, monodiet, meat-eating and explore if and when each one is appropriate, from ethical, social, economical and spiritual points of view. Through this close investigation we may all get a little closer to understanding our own individual character and what our constitutional needs are.
The main purpose of this course is to celebrate and understand the changing seasons and attune with that season on a physical, emotional and spiritual level. Learning to become aware of our natural environment and what is produced and provided for us to ‘feed our souls’. Using our primal senses we will also see how smells, colours, spices, textures and of course tastes are an integral part of our cellular nourishment.
