A selection of trusted suggestions for our spiritual and physical harmony

Yoga and tai-chi, holistic nutrition and fasting, thai-massage courses, reiki and healing therapies, meditation retreats and so many other amazing things are happening in Greece every year that we never hear about. In this site we have gathered many and since there is no financial interest, our suggestions are purely from the heart. The ones we feature are the ones that we know of, the ones we’ve been to, given from people that are on the spiritual path, brothers and sisters, all committed to the same path. We want to share the benefits and the joy we have received with everyone, so enjoy surfing the so many fascinating 'different' holidays you could have this year by taking care of your body, mind and spirit!

Food for the Soul with Krishnataki

4th - 11th May 2012

.....This is a unique course designed to spread the wisdom and light of the Tao in the kitchen, combined with alchemy, fantasy and medicine in the food that we eat.

Using the research and experimentation of many traditions, laws, beliefs and faiths, we have arrived ‘home’…. back to our roots and ancestral knowledge of living and eating in harmony and in accordance with our natural environment. Ancient Greek, Chinese and Ayurvedic dietary practices follow the Earth’s elemental patterns and it is through these three lineages that we would like to delve into a 7 day nutritional enquiry. During the course we will live what we teach and offer a 2-day detox programme with juices/ monodiet and colon cleansing with individual nutritional consultation.

In this course we will learn the fundamental elements of each season and its mental, physical and emotional aspects. In accordance with the 5 elements (Earth, Fire, Water, Metal, Wood) we will cover what ingredients to cook with, how to cook, what dishes to make and of course how to eat them. We will learn and explore ancient secrets of health and longevity from the East and the West (both in and out of the kitchen), how to detox ourselves in each season and how to best nourish our bodies on a daily basis. We will discuss all diet forms; raw, vegan, cooked, monodiet, meat-eating and explore if and when each one is appropriate, from ethical, social, economical and spiritual points of view. Through this close investigation we may all get a little closer to understanding our own individual character and what our constitutional needs are.
The main purpose of this course is to celebrate and understand the changing seasons and attune with that season on a physical, emotional and spiritual level. Learning to become aware of our natural environment and what is produced and provided for us to ‘feed our souls’. Using our primal senses we will also see how smells, colours, spices, textures and of course tastes are an integral part of our cellular nourishment.
We will also learn about the different healing properties of herbs and how to make our own natural cosmetics (soaps/creams/oils) using essential oils and herbs, as well as medicinal tinctures.

We will also explore the healing and therapeutic properties of yoga, qi gong and meditation and celebrate that we are alive, in paradise, upon Mother Earth.

Sunshine House is located on the beautiful island of Evia, one of the few places which the Greeks have kept a secret from foreign tourist intervention. It is the second largest of all the Greek islands and has an abundance of mountains, pine forests, beaches and hot springs. We are situated in a small village close to the island’s capital, Halkida, which can be easily reached by bus, train or car as there is a bridge connecting us to the mainland.
We have a spacious, traditional, old country home with a large, shady garden which boasts almond, eucalyptus, fig, orange, apricot, peach, plum and mulberry trees with plenty of hammocks attached to them. We also try to grow our own vegetables and medicinal herbs and have developed our own nutritional menu, combining traditional Greek recipes and Asian flavours.
Our grounds include yoga room, library, spacious kitchen and dining area, Mongolian yurt, double/triple rooms either in the main house or in wooden chalets in the garden, tent space and organic garden.

Isis, Wari & Pau share same parents, Jordi & Dolors, and same mission, Omshanti Yoga. Wari was the first to jump in the spiritual path and short after Isis & Pau followed his steps. Yoga has been their major discovery and Soma (www.witryh.org) their greatest teacher. The Omshanti project got started 5 years back and has only been growing since then. Since 2007, AcroYoga is a big part of the scene at Omshanti and all three brothers, Isis, Wari & Pau, have become certified AcroYoga teachers. Yoga is the foundation, Thai Massage is the connection with others and Acrobatics is the playful spice to this perfect blend.
